Feel the Soul

Love, is a term normally used to describe the intimate relationship between human. There are a lot of loves in this world: family love, siblings love, friendship love and couple love. However, does it mean love only exists between human?

Animal has soul, just like human. The soul is the same in all living creatures even though the body of each is different. Just like us, they feel pain, happy, sad and fear.

For those who keep a pet in your home, what is your pet means to you? They should be treated as your family, your lifelong companion but not just a toy. If you cannot love them like your family, don't get one. They only know how to look at you as a pack member and to them, that is family.

The movie ‘The Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ showed us that love could exist between human and animal. In fact, animal sometimes express selfless love more than human. The movie is about Caesar, an ape which was raised by Will since young. Throughout the years they spent together, they have built an intimate relationship and the strong bond between them was inseparable. Their relationship shows us that love is eternal as long as you treat someone sincerely; even that someone is an animal.

One does not need words to express their love, just like your pet. Your pet may not know how to talk but they always express their love through their actions.
They love to follow you around the house.
They look forward for you to come back home every day.
They worry about you when you are sick.

Just like human, animal has feelings too. They care about us, and hoping us to love them back as much as they love us. Feel their soul and you will feel their love towards you.

Try asking yourselves, how much are you willing to sacrifice for your loved one? Sometimes, animals could do more than us if their loved one is in the midst of danger. In the movie, Caesar showed his unconditional love to Will and his family without caring its own safety. It was willing to put itself to save Charles from danger.

Animal is different from us, maybe even better than us in certain aspects. Their world is pure, simple and innocent. They do not think of ways to harm others if you do not harm them. Human, is undoubtedly much intelligent compared to animal. We have our thinking and we only think for ourselves. We create so much selfish acts to fulfill our own desire with the excuse of "saving the world". The movie “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” portrays the selfishness of human in the world perfectly. Shouldn't we feel ashamed about it?

In this new era, animal always being used in experiment to test the safety of a new product. Although humans often benefit from successful animal research, the pain, the suffering, and the deaths of animals are not worth the possible human benefits. In this movie, scientists conducted experiments to invent the medicine to cure the incurable Alzheimer’s disease. To ensure the safety of the medicine, they decided to use apes as their testers. Because of this selfish decision, the apes were caught and forced to separate from their loved ones and their homes. The inhuman act caused the apes to revenge. Some might say that human seems to be the victim in this movie, but never forget what goes around comes back around.

Do you still think that human is the dominant creature in this world?
If yes, does it mean that we can sacrifice the other organisms just for the sake of ourselves?
If no, why do human always think that we can control everything in the world?

Always remember that, Earth was created for all life, not just human life. Nothing is more superior to the other, we should always live in harmony as we human “share” the Earth with the others, we do not “own” it. As human, we have to feel empathy towards others and feel their soul.
