Stay True. Be You.

Every single one of us in this world has our own personality. We are all unique, special and irreplaceable. We are limited edition and no one can ever be the same as anybody. What makes our personality unique is the way we express our emotions.

It has nothing wrong to express our emotions but why, sometimes we tend to hide the feelings we feel?

We laugh when we are happy; we cry when we are sad; we feel angry when we are frustrated; we are afraid when we are in fear. Showing these emotions are normal as everyone in the world has these emotions as well. However, as we grow old, we start to hide our true feelings away from people and only show our bright side.

Have you ever wondered what is inside our mind? Here they are.

In the movie "Inside Out", Riley, an eleven years old girl faces sudden change in her life. Just like all of us, Riley has joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust inside herself. Joy tries to make her feels happy in every moment of her life and hides all her other feelings away. What Joy forgets is that other emotions are just as important as joy which make Riley who she is.

Joy tries her best to make Riley a happy kid, but she forgets that Riley needs to experience sadness too.

What make this movie interesting is that it is the reflection of the inner side of everyone. It shows that we are always being controlled by our emotions. Our emotions are the slave to our thoughts, and we are the slaves to our emotions.

It is absolutely fine to express your thoughts and emotions but just to a certain extent. If you do not control your emotions, they will overtake you and be the master of your mind.

Always keep calm and think logically before taking any actions. Never let your emotions to overpower your thinking and intelligence. In this movie, all the emotions of Riley have overpowered her. She does not have the control in her own actions and thoughts. Thus, Riley expresses her feelings aggressively which keeps all her friends away from her. This shows that controlling our emotion well is very important because if we fail to do so it will lead to many irrational actions and behaviours.

Unable to control her own emotions keeps all her friends away from her.

However, we prefer hiding our feelings most of the time. We tend to fake a smile all the time because we are afraid of what others think of us.

If we keep all our true feelings inside us, we will be stressed out. In the movie, Riley suffers a lot after moving to a new place. Everything is new, new environment, new school, new friends and new feelings. She has to start all over again but she cannot adapt to it. She pretends to be alright in front of her parents and be as joyful as before. The stress inside her is getting more and more until she finally breaks down. She runs away from home as she cannot hold on to it anymore.

Sometimes, express your true self may not be as bad as you think.

We can always express our feelings to someone who are willing to lend their ears to us. Do not hide all your emotions until it is too late. Take Riley as an example, if she is willing to tell her parents her real feelings earlier, she may not have to suffer all these difficulties alone. We have family and friends who will always standing by our sides. We can always count on them when we need them.

Comfort in expressing your emotions will allow you to share the best of yourself with others, but not being able to control your emotions will reveal your worst.

Be true to yourself, and never let the noise of others drown your inner voice.
